Grand Seiko Elegance GMT TPD & Winder Settings | Tempus

Grand Seiko Elegance GMT TPD Settings

The Grand Seiko Elegance GMT runs on an automatic calibre that keeps its power reserve topped up through wrist movement — or through a watch winder when it is off the wrist. Using the correct turns-per-day and winding direction keeps the mainspring in its optimal range, so the watch stays accurate and ready to wear.

Set your winder to the values below. Modern automatic movements have a slipping mainspring that prevents overwinding, so these settings are about keeping the watch optimally wound rather than avoiding harm.

Setting	Value
Turns per day (TPD)	725
Winding direction	Bi-directional

Every Tempus winder offers clockwise, counter-clockwise and bi-directional modes with programmable TPD, so the Elegance GMT's 725 TPD bi-directional requirement is fully covered — each rotor programmes independently, and every winder carries a 3-year warranty.

Winders for the Elegance GMT

Tempus 4 Biometric (£971) — Our most popular multi-watch unit — four individually controlled rotors behind a fingerprint-secured lid. Ideal for a growing collection.
Tempus 6 Biometric (£1121) — Six independent winding programmes under biometric lock — built for serious collectors who want every watch ready to wear.
